ZJ's Double Derby Dozen 2011 - #4

OK-

Here is the latest version of ZJ's Double Derby Dozen 2011 - #4. We actually had some movement as I was impressed with a winner over the weekend and he replaced Jaycito on my list. Jaycito has yet to hit the track since the Breeders' Cup plus he has a lot to learn just to get there.

New on the list debuting at #5 is Break Up The Game from Shug McGauhey. By Bernardini out of Pennant Champion by Private Account - this colt showed tremendous talent debuting in the fall since typically Shug doesn't crank up his babies for their debuts. This colt will be heard from if he stays sound. Also new on the list after winning the Count Fleet stakes is Monzon. This gelded son of Thunder Gulch won with complete ease and authority and is now pointed to The Sam Davis stakes at Tampa Bay Downs.

So here we go - the DDD #4 -

1. TO HONOR AND SERVE - at Payson Park prepping for 3 yr old debut.

2. ROGUE ROMANCE - is in Florida as well prepping for return.

3. UNCLE MO - will only have two preps prior to the Derby.

4. DANCINGINHERDREAMS - this filly is a stone cold freak.

5. BREAK UP THE GAME - (new) - Shug's best shot since Easy Goer.

6. J.B.'S THUNDER - Little Al's Derby hopeful.

7. DIALED IN - Zito has a running fool here, needs to take next step.

8. UNCLE SAM - flashed talent with one mile maiden win.

9. TURBULENT DECENT - the 2nd filly in my top 8. Unbeaten and untested.

10. MUCHO MACHO MAN - is training in Florida for next start.

11. SHADOW WARRIOR - runs this weekend in allowance race at Gulfstream.

12. TAPIZAR - ultra impressive winner , in So Cal training for Sham stakes.

13. THE FACTOR - sheer speed , how far is the question.

14. ECONOMIC SUMMIT - will be returning at Gulfstream.

15. MONZON - (new) - will get 10 furlongs today nonetheless May 7th.

16. BANDBOX - should improve when he returns, distance meant.

17. READ THE CONTRACT - #2 in the Rick Violette barn.

18. BRETHREN - Pletcher's other colt.

19. SOVEREIGN DEFAULT - Mr Violette's 3rd hopeful.

20. RUNFLATOUT - will return to races at Santa Anita soon.

21. WINE POLICE - working at the Fair Grounds for the Lacombe.

22. COOL BLUE RED HOT - Mr Penna 1st Derby horse in a very long time.

23. TWINSPIRED - will improve of non- threatening Delta Jackpot run.

ZJ-Have you watched the replay of Machen and his maiden win at the Fairgrounds on Sunday? I came away very impressed with him. Nice list, nonetheless!

Hey Polamalu! No I haven't seen the race but just read that Mr Howard doubts he is a Derby horse - more of a miler.

I think Machen will be a fantastic grass horse being out of Ready's Gal.

Thanks for checking in - see you Saturday on HorseRaceNow, if there not covering Aqueduct, they should be covering Gulfstream.
