OK,
An action packed day of racing awaits as we have only two weeks till Breeders' Cup and most of those horses are putting in there final 'serious' workouts today and do some maintenance next week.
We do have some great action today at Belmont, Keeneland and even at Hawthorne.
I have completely handicapped Belmont 1-10, Keeneland 6-10, plus will be adding Hawthorne race 8 - the Hawthorne Derby at 9F on turf.
We cashed a bunch more tickets yesterday but again seemed we got way more 2nds than wins with great priced horses. Looking for the racing luck to be on our side today.

Belmont race 2 - #9 ALTO BELLE - This Trappe Shot filly debut in an 'off the turf' race for Todd Pletcher and almost got the money in the mud. She returns today, gets on the turf, should be able to control the race with her speed and add some pennies to that small barns yearly totals.

Zenyatta John's Free Saturday Keeneland Horse Pick

For Saturday's Free Pick ~
Keeneland race 8 - #7 Sounds of the City - has come to hand nicely for one of my favorite trainers, Alan Goldberg, having won 3 in a row and just missing the two races prior to those. She goes 2nd off the layoff today and returns to turf where she has won 2/4 at the distance and is in the money all four times. She shipped north from Florida to win her comeback race at Laurel and has another nice work for this effort. Goldberg wins 31% with turf sprinters and she gets Leparoux aboard today. I expect her to make a big run around the turn and draw away for victory.

Zenyatta John's Free Saturday Horse Pick 10/13

It's a very good day of racing as were leading up to the Breeders' Cup. We have some great races today and I feel I have identified some races where the favorites are vulnerable and the potential for tremendous payoffs exist.
I have handicapped 7 races for today including 3 @ Belmont Park (races 7-9, so I have a great Pick3 opportunity and most of the late Pick4 identified), 3 @ Keeneland ( races 3-4, & 9 with a juicy 10/1 + shot on top in the QE2) , plus the Hawthorne Derby which has the look of the best payoffs of the day.

Belmont race 9 - #8 See Tobe ~ I love late season grass stake races as most of the horses that end up as favorites made their mark in the spring and summer and the horses blossoming in the fall are overlays. Exactly the thought process here. See Tobe turned in some spectacularly fast races in July at varied distances and then was laid off till September. He returned with another strong race and makes his 2nd start of this cycle today and I'm expecting him to run his best lifetime race under these circumstances. His owner/trainer is a very strong yet under rated trainer who strikes at a 27% win rate in this time frame.

Zenyatta John's Free Saturday Horse Pick
OK,
It's the most exciting day of the year so far. We have three Derby prep races, baseball is back, and Freddy is leading the Masters. What a day is really an understatement!
I have 7 races handicapped for Saturday including 3 @ Keeneland, 2 @ Aqueduct, and one each at Gulfstream and Santa Anita.
The Santa Anita race alone is worth the price of admission. It is one of my two 4 Star selections today, and have been waiting this horses whole career to race on the grass. They are getting turf today and the price will surely be right as the 4th choice on the morning line. Cashing out big time.
The Derby preps seem logical to me so they are not among my selections. I see it this way-
The Wood ~ goes through Gemologist, Alpha, My Adonis, and Casual Trick.
The Santa Anita Derby ~ goes through Creative Cause, I'll Have Another, and Paytner.
The Illinois Derby ~ see it as Ring It Up, Z Rockstar, Morgan's Guerrilla, and Currency Swap.
For today's Free Pick ~
My other 4 Star selection will be today's Free Pick to build some cash and roll it into my later selections. Aqueduct race 3 - #10 Spin Out. WOW!!
7 wins from 7 selections with 5 exactas and 4 trifectas is just silly!!
Hawthorne rc7 - #1 American Lion - WON - $8.60 $3.80 & $2.80 with the $24.60 exacta and the $73.40 trifecta too !!
While American Lion wasn't as impressive as Eskendereya , he found another gear in the stretch and kicked clear. I hope he blossoms Derby week for Mr Harty. He is worth over $1500 to me in Derby future wagers!!

Aqueduct rc8 - #4 Goldsville - Exploded going first time for Mr Hushion - clearly a much better horse on dirt. Should be able to stalk the two speed horses and run away down the stretch ....
Oaklawn Park rc10 - #3 Win Willy - looks solid again after having him last out, but disappointed to see him Morning Line favorite. I do have what looks like a juicy exacta and trifecta listed in the pay selections. He took blinkers off in last and responded nicely, will be a handful for sure today.
