Saturday January 22 ~
A wonderful day of racing action today as I have selections all over the country. There is some great stakes action at the Fair Grounds and Santa Anita (rc7) today where I have extremely strong opinions against the morning line favorites. My only 5 Star play today kicks off the All Stakes Pick4 at the Fair Grounds in rc6 - we're gonna cash some nice tickets today. If you purchase today's picks at www.pick4win.com , I'll also include my Pk4 play for that Fair Grounds rc6 - rc9 $100,000 guaranteed Pick4. Within my 10 selections today, there are also 4 Daily Double plays too - so It's gimmicks galore at www.pick4win.com.
PLUS - if we don't make money , I will give you another days selections FREE. You have nothing to lose today - only buckets full of Benjamins that my selections will provide. I have won 5 of my last 9 selections. If you have any questions or are already a Member - email me at jackstraw@pick4win.com and I'll take care of everything.
As stated , I have 10 selections available today including 4 @ the Fair Grounds (races 6-9), 3 @ Gulfstream Park (races 5, 7-8) , 2 @ Santa Anita (races 7-8) and one selection from Aqueduct , yet another NYRA cheap card more suited for Penn National that ANY NY track including Finger Lakes!! Hey Charlie Hayward , Greyhounds, Mustangs, or even jug-heads would be more fun to wager on than these shit cards the NYRA is putting together.
As for today's Free Picks -
Aqueduct rc8 - #3 Endless Circle - get hard riding David Cohen today, last time out Rudy was in a 'mini slump' plus he might have bounced of that lifetime best race in last. Would relish any moisture in the race track, should be flying through the stretch for victory.
Gulfstream Park rc5 - Off The Turf - #14 San Pablo ~ might crush them. *Updates as race is Off the Turf*
The very best of luck!

Free Saratoga Horse Picks - Day 40
Aaaah - Closing day ~ Monday September 6th -
We got squat yesterday. I couldn't even go to the track because the NYRA made the backyard into a childrens' play land. Are we gambling or is the track the place to host stupid games for children who don't add a single penny to the betting pools. Why don't they have kids day at a local bar? They're not gonna buy any drinks so whats the big deal? They can run around screaming as the regulars get pissed - just like the track.
As for Free Picks -
Saratoga rc1 - #4 Silent Stalk - ships in for Mr Beattie who is an exceptional horseman and trainer from the Mid- Atlantic area. It's also Mr Beattie's first start at the meet. He will either win for fun or is here to be claimed as damaged good and finish last. I bet it's to cash a ticket.
Saratoga rc4 - #6 Ravelo - wickedly fast colt go on that green cement sidewalk -a.k.a the Saratoga turf - should take it to these and make it a big day for Mid- Atlantic shippers.
Thanks for following the Saratoga meet - I will return to my Friday - Sunday selections starting September 10th. It still pays to follow and subscribe as many horses will run back off the Saratoga races and nuggets of gold will be found.
The very best of luck!

Now it's Yielding!!
It wasn't yesterday or Friday - but it is today!!
How do I know?? - Slow fractions and DIVOTS!!!
As I said - I e-mailed the CEO and President of the NYRA regarding this issue.
Here is how it went -
How do I know?? - Slow fractions and DIVOTS!!!
As I said - I e-mailed the CEO and President of the NYRA regarding this issue.
Here is how it went -
Mr Hayward:
What is the process when it comes to labeling
the conditions of the turf courses?
I find it very hard to believe the grass
was Yielding as listed by the NYRA .
After watching the fourth race go wire
to wire without any divots being thrown
up by the hooves, in has to be Good at
worst and is far from Yielding as listed.
Accurate track conditions are essential
for savvy horse players. It is unfair
to label the turf incorrectly when we can
only believe what you tell us.
Thank you for your time.
Mr. Straw,
Track super Glen Kozak carefully monitors
the condition of all of our turf and dirt courses
and he started walking the turf courses at 6:30 AM
this morning. Yesterday and into last night we
received over an inch and a half of rain which
forced us to cancel two of the four races scheduled
for the turf today. The race that you were referring
to was won by a horse whose previous win was wire
to wire on a yielding turf course at 7-1. The time
of the race was 1:36.98 and the track record for
that distance is 1:33.42 which clearly indicates
the ground was fairly heavy. This was only the
second race run on this turf course in 10-1/2
months. If you go back and look at the first two
races yesterday that were run on the turf in
the pouring rain you will see no divots being
thrown up because the grass is very tight and
in superb condition. We understand that millions
are bet on NYRA races every day and we monitor
our track conditions very carefully.
Thanks for your interest in New
York racing. Regards, Charlie Hayward
Charles E. Hayward
President and CEO
The New York Racing Association, Inc.
Kinda a jab there - but think about it. If the turf
is labeled incorrectly , it goes into the DRF wrong!!
Then when I am handicapping 3 months from now,
that race will say yielding and my handicapping
will be wrong.
Mr Hayward himself said the turf was "very tight
and in superb condition." That doesn't sound
Yielding to ME!!!
Here is my response I sent out this morning -
and I don't expect a reply.
Mr Hayward -
Thank you very much for your prompt reply and
the candor and thoughtfulness with your answer.
I know I am just a 'little guy' and doesn't
wager millions on your races.
I realized there were no divots being thrown
Friday which is what prompted me to write
yesterday. I also know the grass courses
are in fine shape having not been used for
10 1/1 months. It has been a drought up here
in Saratoga. That inch and a half of rain
was absorbed like water into a dry sponge
- hence no divots. But the ground was not
Yielding. I have specialized in handicapping
grass races for 25 years. It was Good at worst.
You referenced the time of the race - it should
have been a lot slower on a Yielding course.
Saying they went in 1:36 and change tells me the
ground was Good. The track record time is
irrelevant - we know those were far from
stakes horses.
Is there a precise way Mr Kozak measures the
conditions of the turf course? I remember Michael D
Dickenson walking the turf course in high heels
to see how much of the heel went into the surface.
Is there no standard definition of Yielding, Soft ,
or Good? I know all racing jurisdictions (
Kentucky, Florida, etc.) label there own tracks
there own way. How much do these definitions
differ from state to state?
Thank you for your time listening to a 'little
guy'
Did I get my point across? Yes I did. In fact,
within an hour of my email, the track conditions
were upgraded twice within the hour. Coincidence?
HARDLY!

Free Saratoga Horse Picks - Day 3
K-
Short and sweet right now - I'm on my way to the golf course.
I will share later an e-mail trail I started after the 4th race Saturday. There was no way on God's green Earth that the turf course was Yielding. No way! If they race three races on a supposed 'Yielding turf' and no divots are thrown up by the horses - IT'S NOT YIELDING !!
It is good at worst. So I wrote an e-mail to the President and CEO at NYRA - Mr Charlie Hayward asking the process of labeling the turf courses because IT'S WRONG !!!
Mr Hayward e-mailed me back within an hour to explain the NYRA's side. I was impressed - but not with the answers. I will share those letters with you later. Yes - I have some large cayoones for writing him , but i have to call bullshit what it is - bullshit. The course was not labeled correctly and it affects where I direct my money and yours!
As for Free Saratoga Picks -
Saratoga rc4 - #6 Mesa Sunrise - goes first off the layoff for new trainer Tony Dutrow who is fantastic with fresh horses, has some back class and speed - will blow these away.
Saratoga rc9 - #1 Lou Brissie - proven off the pace and already a stakes winner - short price, big winner.
The very best of luck!

Better to lose?
Yep-
At Woodbine - rc9 #10 Prized Humour - I like him , then saw he saw the 7/5 favorite! I saw who I had in the exactas and said "it would be better to run second" - and DID with some nice mutuals!!
#10 Prized Humour - 2ND - $3.50 & $3.40 with the $54.20 exacta, the $495.80 trifecta, and the $1189.50 superfecta!! Betcha Jack in NJ had that superfecta a few times!!
Just a funny story -
You'd think the NYRA would do all it could to keep its horses training here in NY - run here in NY. Well after two racing days at the rich Monmouth Park meet - not one but TWO NYRA board members won races last weekend ..... AT MONMOUTH PARK - IN NEW JERSEY !!!
How do you expect keep horses in NY if the people running the Board of the NYRA are running their horses in NJ !!!
Now if they tipped off the Accidental Governor and he cashed some tickets and made some money to buy a pair of sun glasses - well it might have been worth it. I am so surprised a Lady Di or JFK hasn't shown up. Our state is going nowhere fast, glad they found the money they are contractually bound to give the NYRA since the Casino project is in round 4 or 5 of selections that have been if front of FOUR Governors since 2001. They can't get their hands around enough money to actually get the Casino project up and running.
Do you wanna know what is gonna happen? The Shinnecock Indians are going to open a Casino in the Metro NYC area prior to our stupid politicians even deciding who is gonna run the Phantom Casino Project. So while NYS is losing a Million Dollars a DAY since 2001 for every day there is no Casino at Aqueduct - the Indians are coming to take all the business!! They will have a lavish casino open while politicians bicker over slush money. Way to go NYS!! On the ball once again!!
I really need to find a hobby I'm passionate about ..... lol .... Imagine if I WASN"T sedated!!

Racing in ruins in NYS
Wow-
The latest saga in the most criminally run state in the union - New York, has our Accidental Governor about to bankrupt NYS and racing at the same time.
NYRA has been turned down by the state for a $17 million dollar loan for continued operations. Granted , the states finances are in shambles with this dope running our state but NYS is legally bound by contract to give them this money. When the NYRA signed its extension, the state of NY guaranteed to have the casino up and running by April of 2009 - or it would supply the money needed to operate. Since our lazy piece of shit governor chose his buddies for the casino in the latest round of bullshit political pro quo- ALL of THEM including Lame Duck Dave are under Federal investigation because of it.
Now NYC-OTB: the LARGEST bookmaker in the WORLD has been run by NYS for the last 2 years because of archaic laws regarding Off Track Wagering - LOSES MONEY!! And now NYC-OTB has stopped paying the tracks for their signal!! NYC-OTB is not only ripping of the citizens of NY but every horse player around the country for their refusal to pay the tracks for their signals!! NYC-OTB currently owes the NYRA $17 million in BACK payments!!
So to understand this - NYS is screwing all horse players by holding the NYRA hostage AND with-holding their payments for the right to take bets in the first place!! It is crazy!!
The tracks around the country need to CUT OFF NYC-OTB!! Stop the signal!! New York State is a bunch of thieves - stop giving them FREE MONEY!! Cut off the signal!!
It has gotten so bad here in New York - the citizens have gotten together in Saratoga and are suing NYS because at this point - the Saratoga racing meet for 2010 is in serious jeopardy.
Wake up New York - the criminals are running the asylum while Lame Duck Dave pretends to be our Governor. We need to REVOLT against NYS government. We need change before the Accidental Governor bankrupts the state and racing with his idiocy.

NYRA vs NYS
I have very strong feelings on this matter. Please don't be offended by my words rather direct that energy toward the NYS government.
The NYRA announced it might run out of money prior to running The Belmont Stakes. Wow that kind of shocker should make people take notice. The slugs that ARE the NYS legislators have been busy since 2001 and have YET to even START the VLT project for Aqueduct. This VLT project would inject much needed money primarily the NYRA & NYS . Instead the scumbags that 'run' NYS have been busy trying to stuff money in their pockets by trying to get there own groups appointed to run the VLT's. Just asked that asshole Joe Bruno the former legislative leader who was indited and hopefully will go to jail for his association with Jarred A who basically admitted in court he expected favors from Bruno for moneys paid. Go figure Jarred A was involved in a group that Mr Bruno was pushing to run the VLT's and oust the NYRA.
Now 9 years after the VLT's were approved - the project is stalled still because of the incompetent NYS legislature. So Charlie Hayward had enough and said NYRA will run out of money. Now more leeches have crawled out from under a NYS government rock to ask "what happened to the $30 million we gave you in bailout money?" That takes the cake for ignorance and deception. NYS had to BUY the three TRACKS back from the NYRA who had the deeds to all three tracks plus had been paying property taxes on them. It wasn't a bailout dirtbag , the tracks were not the property of the state, you bought them. Stop the grandstanding already and rectify this VLT situation so the citizens of NYS can see an influx of money into the budget and tax coffers that are taking hits because of Wall St.
We need to vote out every single member of the NYS legislature. They are not serving the citizens - they are simply serving themselves and 'their best interests' - like Jarred.
I hope to visit you in jail Mr Bruno and then the VLT's - get it done already !
