Preakness Day has arrived and so did the rain as I expect the track to be wet and fast all day with the turf somewhere between good and yielding at Pimlico.

For Saturday I've completely handicapped all 14 Pimlico races with Pick5, Pick4, Pick3 wagers plus Off the Turf Selections suggested. Some very interesting races and bettable plays all day long. I have three (4 Star) Best Bets plus some long shot selections looking to cash some running tickets.

Pimlico race 11 - #9 TIME TO TRAVEL - This son of Hard Spun ran well against the flow of the track trying two turns for the first time in the Lexington Stakes. He gets 1st Lasix today which might explain the slight fade in his last - regardless, it should move him forward today. He is a very nice colt, should control this race from the outside with his speed.

What a JERK!

I am currently listening to At The Races on Sirius Radio. The host has on Jay Privman from the Daily Racing Form. Privman just said " the people who are on opposite sides of Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta and bash each other should get a life."

Well - you Jay Privman - are an asshole. Almost as big an asshole as Draynay, some other dirtbag that leaves uneducated asinine posts on racing blogs.

I am firmly in the corner of Zenyatta and the Mosses.

RA's handler Scott Blasi is another jerk. RA's owner is a slimy rich rodent who whines "we need more money to race at your track" , "you need to change the distance of the race too to get RA at your track". Those race tracks should have told them to pound salt - but they need to draw fans so they change things.


All Zenyatta does is show up and win - without any fuss from anyone in her camp.

How can you NOT take a side?

UPDATE - this blow hard is on TV now doing the Talking Horses and is insulting Fanny Freud saying (in NY mind you) - "nobody wants to hear Andy talk about NY breds"   YOU ARE IN NEW YORK!

I hope to see 'The Champ' here in Saratoga. If the Mosses don't want to fly before Breeder's Cup - start the van now!! OR - fly her in and train her at the Oklahoma Training Track till the Breeders' Cup. Even better - the 'Big Mare' can gallop next to that little over- rated and over - protected filly Rachel Alexandra - who will also train at Oklahoma till it closes the first week of November.

Just some food for thought. I'd actually work for free to be Zenyatta's night watchman.

As I've said for 2 years now - check previous blog entries, I was challenged by a silly blogger who said Rachel was better than Zenyatta just because her speed figures were higher (on dirt as i later pointed out) and because Rachel ran 'faster' times - (again, on dirt) - my response was , Time only matters in jail !" and I was right ... I wrote in a September 12 blog entry that Zenyatta would stomp Rachel - come on , who's your daddy - it me ...

Check out the comments on my previous Zenyatta vs Rachel entry. A blogger commented that I was naive because Rachel had won 9 furlongs in 1:46 and change and 1:47 and change while Zenyatta had only run 1:48 and change ... Remember this - Time only matters in jail.

The blogger must not be successful wagering on Turf races being that final times have almost nothing to do with comparing runners or finding winners on Turf. Nonetheless trying to compare final times on dirt over speed tracks like Saratoga or Monmouth to the Pro-Ride and Cushion track in California. The poly - surfaces are by design slower to make them safer to run over. So there is absolutely no comparison of final times between surfaces. On big days like Haskel or Woodward days over dirt tracks they are rolled and packed down tight to assure fast times. Don't you think the tracks were to Rachel's advantage allowing her to run those fast times?

Zenyatta - a Champion being held back from true greatness by conservative owners and her trainer. Undefeated and the Best Horse on the Planet.

Zenyatta would stomp Rachel

Yes -

I'll be the first to say it. If they got in the starting gate together , Zenyatta would stomp on Rachel Alexanda. What Rachel did winning the Woodward was a great feat but she still would not have the last gear for Zenyatta.

Zenyatta's best race was on dirt. She has risen to every challenge even though i thought she should have been in the BC Classic last year as would have asserted her presence. If Zenyatta would have been in the Woodward , she would have inhaled both Rachel and Macho Again and won by open lengths. I just wish Zenyatta's owners had some gumption like Jess Jackson has brought to the sport. Three year old fillies have won huge races all over the globe from the Arc de Triomphe to the BC Mile - against older colts. Its been done before with success but without the hoopla of Rachel's campaign. Its just not been done with all the glory of US racing before.

Zenyatta would stomp Rachel - I just wish I could watch and wager on such a race ...
