Wow -
What a race by the Horse of the Year and 3 yr old filly Champion Rachel Alexandra today in The Woodward stakes in Saratoga ... They tried to gut her as expected. They went four wide into the first turn with her in 22 and change and three across turning down the backstretch. Calvin was able to slow her down to 1:10 and change and she turned for home 2 in front. But she showed the heart and class of a true champion, I've never seen a more brave filly. I like everyone else gave her a standing ovation. I hope she gets the rest of the year off - she certainly deserves it ....
