Zenyatta would stomp Rachel

Yes -

I'll be the first to say it. If they got in the starting gate together , Zenyatta would stomp on Rachel Alexanda. What Rachel did winning the Woodward was a great feat but she still would not have the last gear for Zenyatta.

Zenyatta's best race was on dirt. She has risen to every challenge even though i thought she should have been in the BC Classic last year as would have asserted her presence. If Zenyatta would have been in the Woodward , she would have inhaled both Rachel and Macho Again and won by open lengths. I just wish Zenyatta's owners had some gumption like Jess Jackson has brought to the sport. Three year old fillies have won huge races all over the globe from the Arc de Triomphe to the BC Mile - against older colts. Its been done before with success but without the hoopla of Rachel's campaign. Its just not been done with all the glory of US racing before.

Zenyatta would stomp Rachel - I just wish I could watch and wager on such a race ...

You must be very new to the sport, or just very naive, which is it I am wondering, have you ever compared the times for Zenyatta's 9
furlong races, has zenyatta ever stopped the timer at less that 1:48and change. To my knowledge Rachel has stopped the clock at 1:46.33 and 1:47.21. That in horse racing terms puts Rachel about 4 or 5 lengths better than Zenyatta, I know you enjoy that Zenyatta is undefeated, but she's not run against but 2 quality fields, in the Apple Blossom and the B.C.Ladies Classic on her home turf, as for the rest of the fields she's run against, in the other 10 races she's never really faced a true grade 1 horse. Funny how Rachel has faced 12 or 13 Grade 1 horses and beat them all, Zenyatta faces 7 or 8 but she's the better horse. You must be from out West, I feel sorry for you to have to watch such low quality competition, Grade 1 events being run with Allowance horses the majority of the time.
Explain to me this, why is it that Moss stated they were coming East to face Rachel in June, and after she destroyed a field in the Mother Goose by 19 lengths he decides the next day he would change his mind. Scared of the Horse of the Year huh, lol, do you think that Zenyatta's 3 race campaign is worth Horse of the Year votes. No I didnt think so.

Thanks for your thoughtful opinions. I live in the East so I have no West Coast bias.

I will push your comments back to you - you must be new to the sport to believe TIME of a race is the ultimate judge of a race. I wise man once said "time only matters in jail". Zenyatta only wins by as much as she needs to win by as Rachel who is blessed with natural speed blazes through her races with consummate ease. You can't say Rachel is better just because she races with a different style.

Zenyatta is handicapped her owners who approach the game differently than Jess Jackson. Again you can't blame the mare for this. Zenyatta would have won the Breeders' Cup Classic last year if she were entered - but she wasn't. Zenyatta also has to carry that dead -weight Mike Smith while Calvin enjoys a almost personal relationship with Rachel.

I proclaimed Rachel as Horse of the Year - I never said Zenyatta was even in the running. She doesn't have the campaign of Rachel. That is clear for everyone to see. But the Preakness was not a good field and neither was the Woodward. Rachel beat up the boys - but if those boys don't run very fast , what is the big deal then ? Jess Jackson took advantage of the situation of having a 3 yr old filly that was better that the 3 yr old colts that were running at the time. Rags to Riches beat Curlin in the Belmont - Rachel has not beat any colts with talent.

Know this for sure - Zenyatta will remain undefeated because she has the will and heart of a Champion to never get beat to the wire, even on her bad days. Rachel has two losses already, against fillies.

California racing is in shambles. I wish the Mosses had more gumption and raced Zenyatta against anyone anywhere - because she will not lose ever, unless she dies trying like Ruffian and Go For Wand did.

Zenyatta would stomp Rachel anytime, anywhere , any surface. Time only matters in jail. Horses like Zenyatta are one in a million. Rachel Alexandra is a wonderful filly - buts lets face it, even Robby Albarado knew he was on a hanging rat in Macho Again and was never going to run by her in the Woodward. Rachel has beaten up on inferior competition, or she wouldn't have been entered to run so many times against boys.
