ZJ's Double Derby Dozen - #3

K-

We has some movement in the DDD this week as two New horses were added and two were dropped. Dropped were Smash due to inactivity and Industrial Leader because of tremendous potential colts shown over the weekend.. I have added two Bullet Bob Baffert colts who broke their maidens in style during opening weekend and Santa Anita ~ Uncle Sam and The Factor.

Uncle Sam went a mile - but the way he got position through the far turn and put his head in front at the top of the stretch and found another gear and opened up on the field with a gorgeous, long, easy stride was eye opening.

The Factor sizzled and broke the track record for six furlongs in 1:06.98!!   That was the fastest race I've ever seen. The son of War Front should stretch out but he debuts on the DDD lower than Uncle Sam for distance concerns and possible limitations.

So here we go, the Double Derby Dozen - #3 ~

1. TO HONOR AND SERVE - waiting for this son of Bernardini to return to the track.

2. ROGUE ROMANCE - if son of Smarty Jones handles dirt, will be hard to handle.

3. UNCLE MO - freakish 2 yr old needs to come back a man to get 10 furlongs.

4. DANCINGINHERDREAMS - this filly is a stone cold freak, may be BEST 3 yr old of ANY sex.

5. UNCLE SAM - (new) - found another gear and won very impressively.

6. J.B.'S THUNDER - Little Al has a good one here.

7. ECONOMIC SUMMIT - the 1st of Mr Violette's runners, big upside when he returns.

8. TURBULANT DECENT - undefeated filly has unlimited potential.

9. MUCHO MACHO MAN - already proven a distance runner in Remsen.

10. TAPIZAR - might be Mr Asmussen's best hope, maiden win faster than stakes 30 minutes later.

11. BREAK UP THE GAME - Shug's Derby horse flashed brilliance in first out.

12. SHADOW WARRIOR - tremendous talent , needs to come back soon.

13. THE FACTOR - this years version of Eightyfiveinafifty - freaky speed.

14. COOL BLUE RED HOT - Mr Penna Derby hopeful.

15. BANDBOX - can't wait to see him come back in 2011.

16. READ THE CONTRACT - Mr Violette's 2nd, exploded to win 2nd out by 10 lengths.

17. BRETHREN - Mr Pletchers other horse.

18. SOVEREIGN DEFAULT - Mr Violette's 3rd , broke maiden in style.

19. RUNFLATOUT - SoCal morning glory, unlimited potential, working for return.

20. WINE POLICE - impressive maiden breaker working at Fair Grounds for return.

21. DIALED IN - Mr Zito lone hopeful.

22. TWINSPIRED - flopped in Delta Jackpot , nearing return.

23. JAYCITO - Mr Baffert has a project here.

24. LEAVE OF ABSENCE - Mr Violette's 4th entry will appear in stake race soon.

There you go - another Double Derby Dozen in the books as these colts will turn into 3 yr olds this weekend as they start cranking up for 'The Derby Run'.

Peace & Love ~ ZJ
