Finally -
After months of banter, its time to get it on at Churchill Downs. I have handicapped 7 picks for a sloppy track and soft turf for Kentucky - and fast and firm for my 2 plays at Belmont and lone play at Hollywood Park. I have a great bet early on the Churchill card on a horse my favorite clocker gave me who should love the slop. We'll be pocketing some cash early.
The current odds of the Derby are crazy. There are NO real long shots right now. The favorite was Super Saver at 7/1 with Lookin at Lucky 9/1 second choice. Then there are 16 horses under 25/1. That's nuts. Nobody knows who to bet - except ME!!
As for Free Picks -
Belmont rc9 - #8 Baletti -(5 star) should win for fun, toss last as he was too close to the pace - his connections absolutely LOVE him and feel he is sitting on a smasher.
Churchill rc9 - #7 Warrior's Reward -(5 star) amazing horse at the distance plus won last season over a sloppy sealed CD track. Plenty of speed for him to blow on by in the lane.
