I am anxiously watching the weather in California as it is currently raining on Opening Day at The Great Race Place - Santa Anita Park. Race 2 is already off the turf, but it's light rain and I need to see how it affects the rest of the races.

Santa Anita race 5 - #8 Silentio - was being pointed for the Hollywood Derby so he is very well thought of by his connections but passed and pointed for this, comes in fresh off a series of excellent 6 furlong workouts so he is dead fit, drops to a winning distance, and any give in the turf will not stop his winning late run.
