Free Saratoga Horse Picks - Day 14

Saturday August 7th -

An extraordinary day of racing is shaping up for Whitney Day here is Horse Heaven - Saratoga Springs. Today we get blessed with the Best Male horse in training - Quality Road. Plus the Grade 1 Test Stakes at 7 furlongs for the 3 yr old fillies. I have a tremendous play in that race with Saratoga breeding that has cashed me $20 winners for 15 years now. Saratoga is a big 'horse for course' race track.

On another note - the NYRA just announced that for the First Time - they will reserve Backyard Picnic tables for Travers Day for $100 each - limit 6 people, no chairs, or anything else that may take up more space that the 4'x6' square of turf you reserve. The $100 does go to charity thank goodness but it DOES NOT INCLUDE ADMISSION!  Meanwhile if you are not familiar with how Picnic Tables are 'reserved' normally , this is how they do it Travers Day. If you want The Chance to get a table - you have to camp out at the closed front gate from midnight Friday. When the gates open - you RUN as fast as you can and put you table cloth down and then catch your breath. The 800 or so tables are gone in 10 minutes. Now that struggle and hassle was just made worse by the NYRA. Way to go boys.

As for Free Picks -

Saratoga rc1 - #3 Digital - the longest shot in the morning line - is the only 4 yr old in the field as he was born in July in the Southern Hemisphere cycle , is making his US debut for an extremely sharp trainer Eduardo Caramori. Digital returns with FIVE superior workouts at a training center. Do not be surprised when he crushes these!

Saratoga rc5 - #9 Macho Joe - comes off short layoff for Mr Mott - one of the few Kent D. still rides for Mr Mott's owners after showing up and failing a breathalyzer test prior to Mr Mott's horse winning a stake at Woodbine. Comes from two key races , won on weeds last out , should rate and rock off the turn.
