Jack's Derby Dozen 2010 - List #2

OK-

Two changes already to my Derby Dozen 2010. I had to drop two off the list but I'll keep them around in the bullpen which will be more like the AAA ball club - ready for that breakout performance. More on that later.

The two new runners that make their debuts today are - Uptowncharleybrown and Take Control.

At #10 is Uptowncharleybrown - a robust colt by Limehouse who made an explosive debut at Tampa Bay Downs Saturday. After a rough start Charley settled under stout restraint down the backside. He moved outside around the far turn and drew off impressively and galloped out very strongly. I hope to see this colt in the winners circle of the Tampa Bay Derby for Alan Seewald.

At #11 is Take Control - who quite simply is the best bred horse for the Derby 2010 by a champion - out of a champion. The A.P. Indy colt out of Azeri debuted today at a mile in race 3 at Santa Anita. He rated like an old pro, swung out mid- stretch and blew the doors off them galloping out with strength and vigor. He only ran about 3 furlongs total. An awesome debut for Mr Baffert no question.

Derby Dozen List #2
#1 Afleet Express - in training at Gulfstream ..
#2 Buddy's Saint - also at Gulfstream ..
#3 Lookin at Lucky - I doubt his stamina ..
#4 Jackson Bend - now with Zito ..
#5 Super Saver - on a break ..
#6 American Lion - nice Tiznow colt ..
#7 Discreetly Mine - now with Pletcher - look out!
#8 Dublin - training at Oaklawn ..
#9 Pulson - aaah cobra venom ..
#10 Uptowncharleybrown - smashing debut winner ..
#11 Take Control - inhaled field in his debut ..
#12 Dave in Dixie - now Sadler's #1 ..
#13 Connemara - in training ..
#14 William's Kitten - races soon ...

The Bullpen -

I dropped two horses today to the bullpen but they still have a chance to launch successful 3 yr old campaign -
Sidney's Candy - who was rank after being left at the gate during his allowance race today and weakened in the lane.
Eightyfiveinafifty - who is working his way back to the races after a very promising debut at Saratoga but yet is still a maiden so I'll move him to the pen for now.

Some others to keep an eye on are -
Worldly , Imaginary Saint , Switch , Tiz Chrome and Winslow Homer.

Stay tuned, good luck and Happy New Year !
