ZJ's Derby Dozen 2011 - #12

Alright  ~

After a few uninspiring prep races last weekend , there was only a few changes to the Derby Dozen #12.

Dropped were Sway Away, who had a broken tooth and a rough trip in Rebel, too much to overcome. Elite Alex was dropped like a rock in the ocean as he's looking more like a hanger who seems to find trouble and run in spurts. They might have to geld him to get the best out of him , or just lay him off for a while and point for the Travers. Rogue Romance is off the trail with foot issues, hope to see him back on grass in a few weeks. Bandbox has been re-routed to The Preakness - so he's off the Derby Dozen.

So here we go , ZJ's Derby Dozen - #12 ~

1. JAYCITO - wish Baffert would pick a final prep already, begging for 10 furlongs.

2.TO HONOR AND SERVE - like the Magnolias at Augusta, this colt is blossoming every day.

3. MUCHO MACHO MAN - losing a shoe at the gate then still running a very good race, I like it.

4. SOLDAT - has solid foundation , probably will make the Trifecta in the Derby.

5. PREMIER PEGASUS - exploded with blinkers off , next will make me a believer.

6. UNCLE MO - sure ran 22.4 in his last quarter of public work- who cares? No pressure at anytime.

7. DIALED IN - finished very strong in recent workout - feel 10 furlongs touch too far right now.

8. BREAK UP THE GAME - Hope Shug gets some graded earning and blows the doors off the Derby field.

9. THE FACTOR - (new) - went 2 turns on speed favoring track without pressure, much to prove.

10. NEHRO - (new) - this Mineshaft colt will excel at 10 furlongs or more!

11. SANTIVA - should get a lot in 1st off layoff. Surprised me actually with return.

12. ASTROLOGY - (new) - made good return in Sunland, next?

13. TOBY'S CORNER - still have faith in this strapping colt.

14. ALTERNATION - looking forward to his return after gate mishap.
