I nice day of races awaits today as we have a interesting Derby prep, The Spiral from Turfway Park, not for the Derby ramifications, but for today's wagering opportunity. The Gulfstream races may produce some good exotic payouts, I did find a few plays that could make the day quite rewarding.

For Saturday, I have completely handicapped Gulfstream races 6-12, Turfway Park race 11, and Santa Anita races 4 and 8 with Pick5, Pick4 and Pick3 wagers suggested. The two Santa Anita races could both have vulnerable favorites plus both on turf which opens them up even more, we could have a very nice wagering day.

Gulfstream race 12 - #9 DETERRENT - This 5 yr old First Defense horse had made two starts this winter off a serious layoff and moved forward very well in that second effort. The very craft Jason Servis freshened him up for this race and I believe he is the 'speed of the speed'. I expect him to fire from the gate and repel all challenges going wire to wire for victory.
