August is upon us, the season is now in full swing. Some great races coming up this weekend, but let's delve into today.

Rain is expected sometime during the day, so I have Dirt selections under every turf race in case they get taken off the turf while the card has already started.

I also have the Grade 1 AP Smithwick Steeplechase handicapped for a total of 10 race with suggested Pick3's and both Pick4's. I passed on race 1 as it is a claimer for jumpers.

Saratoga race 3 - #3 Let's Have Us One - Steve Asmussen has come to Saratoga loaded for bear, seems the only Churchill trainer to do so. This one comes in fresh but had a good race here locally last season. He lost to a repeat winner over the winter at Oaklawn and drops in class but not so much as to be giving him away. I expect Rosie to put him on the lead and go wire to wire.
