OK -
More changes in the Derby Dozen. I finally dropped some highly promising but off schedule 3 yr olds. Everything has to be just right or they get kicked off the trail.
My #1 colt remains Sidney's Candy. This uber talented son of Candy Ride will be a force in this division. His effortless athletic stride will serve him very well. I had some shithead named Forbidden Apple disparage him on the BloodHorse blog, said the name sounds like a girls horse. Jenny Craig named the colt after her husband Sid who passed away. Hey Forbidden Apple - opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one , and most should be kept to themselves. So F.U.
But here we go - list #8 ...
1. Sidney's Candy - ultra talented colt will run two turns next out ...
2. American Lion - long striding son of Tiznow will love the dirt
3. Dublin - ripped bullet other day, on track for a smasher in Rebel ...
4. Dave in Dixie - late runner with explosive stretch kick ...
5. Stay Put - under rated but another powerful stretch runner ...
6. Make Music for Me - NEW! - awesome run and gallop out last weekend ...
7. Eskendereya - galloped them into submission in the FOY ...
8. Conveyance - Mr Bafferts speed ball will stay in the USA ...
9. Lookin at Lucky - jumps in the deep water in the Rebel ...
10. Uptowncharlybrown - adds blinkers for TB Derby, on toes ...
11. Ron the Greek - expect a better pace to run at in the Louisiana Derby ...
12. Rule - out worked G1 winning 5 yr old other morning, 10 furlongs the question...
Just missing the cut were -
Awesome Act who blew the doors off the Gotham field last Saturday. May experience Euro-bounce next time but had an eventful trip across the pond and still won.
Buddy's Saint - was dropped like a rock. Mr Levine still plans on the Wood then Derby schedule which is highly unlikely after debacle in FOY.
That's how I see it as of now -
