Jack's Derby Dozen list #6

Feb 15th -

Lots of movin and shakin on the Derby Dozen - with more to come after this weekend with three Derby Preps on Saturday - The Risen Star , The Southwest , and The Fountain of Youth.

I had a few horses drop off the list , a few rejoin from list #1 , and a few shooters too.

Eightyfiveinafifty - I love his name by the way, a clever way to say I'm faster than you and you know what I say "if ya got it, flaunt it" - but after breaking his bit and being eased in the Whirlaway Mr Contessa said he was going to start in another sprint so it sounds like he was off the Derby Trail. If he happens to win the Wood like that freak Bellamy Road did a few years ago for Kinsman Stable, Ill put him back on. I just hope we get a chance to see his best races soon. So here we go -

Derby Dozen List #6 -

#1- Buddy's Saint - training up a storm and is ready to go Saturday in the FOY. I expect a top two performance.

#2 Sidney's Candy - back from List #1 with a amazing San Vicente , may have finally harnessed the oozing talent - his run down the stretch was rhythmic, powerful , and effortless- just like his daddy. The son of Candy Ride will be fun to watch in the coming weeks.

#3 American Lion - got a nice prep race in the Lewis and I got a nice Derby future ticket at 41/1. Will improve leaps and bounds in next race.

#4 Dublin - son of Afleet Alex comes out Saturday in the Southwest. D Wayne said he is massive and will run all day.

#5 Conveyance - the threat to Dublin in the Southwest , ships in with speed to spare ...

#6 Lookin at Lucky - just because - but don't think he can win the Derby.

#7 Dave in Dixie - another back from List #1 after rousing stretch run in the Lewis. Son of Dixie Union should have no issues with dirt.

#8 Pulsion - son of Include should have strong say in the outcome of the FOY except missed his prep and one hiccup is too many on the Trail.

#9 Afleet Express - don't know where he will show up next but looking forward to it.

#10 Ron the Greek - stretch runner back in action Saturday in the Risen Star.

#11 Rule - NEW - reminds me of Summer Squall (look him up on YouTube Rachel), Preakness maybe but Derby seems stretch.

#12 Nextdoorneighbor - NEW - son of Lido Palace worked 1:10 other day..

#13 Uptowncharlybrown - will improve off Sam Davis , found his stride late first time around two turns and kicked in strong last furlong and galloped out past winner powerfully. Development still expected and may well develop into a top five prospect.

That's how I see it for today - looking forward to the weekend action.
