There is no better place on Earth - the electricity of Opening Day, the gorgeous ladies dressed to the nines including hats , and the awesome sounds and sights of thundering thoroughbreds. Our quaint city of 35,000 grows to 50,000. The city streets are jammed beyond their intended volumes. But the buckets full cash we will take out through the windows will make up for everything.

I have handicapped all 10 races for the Friday card at Saratoga Race Course. I have three (2 star) picks that look like winning favorites plus a few 6/1's, an 8/1 and a 10/1 shots on the morning line selections in the (3 star) or (4 star) categories that look very juicy. Saratoga race 2 - #2 Flourish - makes her return off a lengthy layoff going out first time for Mr Mott who regularly points a number of layoff horses to fire big at Saratoga, this one is fantastically bred for the weeds, and gets "soon to be sober" Kent Desormeaux who somehow still rides for Mr Mott, that all adds up to victory to me.

Get tied on - as Day One of Forty gets us rollin.
